Where the worms ask for human teeth
It’s violent sigh - falsely contemporary
Of their belief in justice abandoned by mourning
Wrapped beneath the ducts and dowels
The torments of Hell
Where the Devil steps out of men
Left a space wide enough for impressions of old stones
For the defiant poets to misuse
A legacy of hands on agony
Eternal eating of the divine body
Aggravated assault arranged in ours
A failure in wisteria rains we pour
Into throated crypts of forgotten love
With the clouds about your head
Did you find courage in death?
Carrying the wrought of wars lost
I’ll take to Heaven where it’s surely lonely too
